11/07//14: World Cup Sweepstake. All 32 teams were sold and the lucky winner of Germany was committee member Scott Lindsey and Argentina was Grasshoppers Juniors Chairman, Dave O'hara. Winner will receive £100.00 and the runner up £50.00. Good luck gentleman.

28/06/14: Kent Invicta League AGM.  Saturday's AGM saw Sheppey United (formerly Sheppey and Sheerness United FC) elected into the league making 16 teams this season after champions Hollands & Blair lost their appeal for promotion to the Southern Counties East League. Other team news, Fleet Leisure have changed their name to Gravesham United, Kent Football United will play their home fixtures at The Glentworth Club, Dartford and Seven Acre and Sidcup will play at Sporting Club Thamesmead.

The 2013/14 awards were made with Hollands & Blair manager, Paul Piggott, picking up the Manager of the Season award and Blair's James McDonald the leading goalscorer award. The Referee of the Years was Brian Woodhouse.

The season will commence on Saturday 9th August and finish on 25th April 2015 (dependant of course on the winter weather!)

The Challenge Trophy will revert back to a single tie. The draw for the first round was made as follows:-

Meridian VP v Sheppey United, Orpington v Bearsted, Crockenhill v Sutton Athletic, Glebe v Seven Acre & Sidcup, Lewisham Borough v Bridon Ropes, Kent Football United v Hollands & Blair, Rusthall v Gravesham Borough, Lydd Town v Eltham Palace.


Lydd Town FC will be holding a RACE NIGHT in the Clubhouse on Saturday 19th October with the first race starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £3.00 and are on sale now behind the bar. All are welcome so get your ticket early to avoid disappointment. 


As Lydd Town embark on the first ever season of the Step 6 Kent Invicta League - help is required more than ever. Supporters, Volunteers and Committee members are seeked to help push Lydd Town forward off the pitch as well as on it.
