We’ve come such a long way from where we were last season, but we know we’re still not where we want to be. Our first two defeats of the season, both against good opposition, hurt me and the squad deeply.

I want to personally apologise to the hundreds of fans who turned out today to support us. We didn’t get the result you deserved. The same goes to everyone who travelled to Stansfeld — your support means everything to us, and we know how much effort goes into following this team.

There are no excuses. We have to learn from these results, improve and make sure we respond in the right way.

We will continue to work hard, continue to improve and continue to strive to get the results that you, our fans, deserve.
